I must've nipped a vessel...

Stay tuned for my entry into The Film Experience's Vampires Blog-a-Thon. I shall be writing about a film both timeless and revered: Dracula -- let me finish -- Dead & Loving It. Look for it here Oct. 30. Now stop reading if you want to experience the new Christopher Guest movie without preconceived notions.

Still reading? Hope not. For lo, I gallop into town with advanced word. The news is bad. Worse than bad. For Your Consideration, for all its scattered laughs, is a deep disappointment. As the Nov. 22 release date approaches, I will tell you why. For now, though, let us weep together for a great opportunity torn asunder.

I realize this is a months-old reference, but that's a movie with an acceptable colon.

Am I the only one who thought A Mighty Wind was a deep disappointment?

Save for the color witches of course.

A Mighty Wind was a step down, and FYC is a step down from there. I thought AMW had a terrific soundtrack, no joke. I still think Michael McKean and Annette O'Toole should've won an Oscar for "Kiss at the End of the Rainbow." It's one of Oscar's great bungles.

I will ponder this unfortunate degeneration in a future post. We've come along way since Guffman -- FYC is a staggering missed opportunity.

Pooh! (But more than you've already divilged your Vampire film -- mine's staying a secret, bwahaha...)

And what a shame that FYC is a dud. I was looking forward to it. The preview ain't a laugh riot anyway.

Um, I know exactly what you're topic is. Come on.

F*ck, those damn contractual homophones.

I wondered what you thought about FYC, because I first heard about it on your blog, way back when.
So when I saw the trailer this past week, I thought, "huh... that looks, kinda awful, actually."
Knowing that it was supposed to be on the subject of Oscar races, etc., I was surprised how long the trailer took to get to that subject. And when it did, it didn't even make sense. Judging purely from the trailer, the film looked like a mess... which made me wonder what the film actually was like and what you were going to think about it.

Disappointment blows.
