Where am I?
I'm right...here. Apologies for the lack of updates. It's busy busy busy at work. But here are some coming attractions: I'll be crashing the Telluride Film Festival Sept. 1-4, so expect correspondence. Also, I'll review Michel Gondry's The Science of Sleep, which, unfortunately, plays like Ambien. Let's see, what else ... Oh! Happy 70th birthday to Bob Redford, the handsomest man in the movies (after Paul, of course).

Bob Redford, the handsomest man... wha the? Maybe once upon a "All The President's Men," but today his face resembles a paper bag that's been crumpled up, run over with a truck, and then smoothed out again.
Well, yes. Notice how I linked to photos from their youth. The great thing about cinema is that it's always taking place in the present (notice film reviews, even of classic movies, are written in the present tense). Movies are both immortal and perpetual. So regardless of how decrepit Bob and Paul may get in real life, they are still the best-looking gents in the movies.
Also, I should've used this post to solicit ideas for future posts. Feel free to suggest topics of conversation.
Bob still looks good to me. He's still high on my list of most handsome actors. But I also have Dana Andrews and Bill Holden on my list--and they're dead.

..?
Paul... Rudd?
